A word from the founder

I founded Clinique Octobre on a simple conviction: every person deserves a space where they feel heard, respected and understood in their own reality. We brought together professionals from complementary disciplines to offer, under one roof, support that is rigorous, warm and culturally sensitive. Wherever you come from and whatever you are going through, you are in the right place.

What her title actually allows

In Quebec, certain activities are reserved by law to specific professions. Two of them explain why the clinic can take on files that many practices have to turn away.

One exclusive activity

The psychosocial assessment leading to a tutorship to a person of full age, a protection mandate or temporary representation is reserved exclusively to social workers. No other profession may produce that report.

Access to the covered hours

Accreditation in family mediation allows a mediator to act under Quebec's Family Mediation Service, which is what opens the government-paid hours to eligible couples.

Every professional order keeps a public online register. You can confirm a professional's title, their membership status and, where applicable, any additional attestation or permit.

The values that guide the whole team's practice are set out on the About the clinic page.

How a first contact works

1

You describe your situation

By form or by phone, in French, English or Arabic. Above all, tell us the goal: a diagnosis, a report for the court, ongoing therapy.

2

We confirm eligibility

Depending on the request, we check things like your access to the government-paid mediation hours, or exactly what document the court requires.

3

You are directed to the right professional

Social work, neuropsychology, occupational therapy or mediation: the redirection happens internally, without sending you back to square one.

4

First meeting

In person at the Laval office or by teleconsultation anywhere in Quebec.
