Insurance and third party payers
Clinique Octobre is registered with the insurers and public bodies listed below. Whenever your file allows it, we bill the insurer or the public body directly, so you have nothing to pay upfront.

Sun Life
We are registered with Sun Life. If your group plan covers the services of a social worker or an occupational therapist, the claim can be processed without you paying upfront. The amount reimbursed depends on your contract.
Medavie Blue Cross
We are registered with Medavie Blue Cross. The insurer also administers several federal programs, including the Interim Federal Health Program described below.
Public bodies and government programs
CNESST
We are registered with the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail. If your file is accepted and psychosocial follow up is authorized, the fees are covered under the rules of the program. See also our page Work leave and mental health.
IVAC
We are registered with the Crime Victims Compensation plan, administered by the CNESST. Eligibility and the number of authorized sessions are determined by IVAC in your own file.
Ministère de la Justice du Québec
The government pays for a set number of family mediation sessions for eligible couples. The service is delivered by a certified family mediator. See our page Family mediation.
Gouvernement du Québec
We are registered with the Gouvernement du Québec as a service provider. Some follow ups and assessments are therefore paid directly by a ministry or a public body, at no cost to the person referred.
Immigration Canada
We are registered with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. People covered by the Interim Federal Health Program may receive mental health services, within the limits of the program. Claims are processed by Medavie Blue Cross.
Direct billing
When the insurer or the paying body allows it, we bill them directly and you pay nothing upfront. Otherwise you pay for the session and submit the receipt to your insurer.
Your receipt
Every receipt carries the name of the professional, her title and her membership number with her professional order. That is exactly the information insurers ask for in order to process a claim.
How to check your coverage
Look at your plan
Open your group insurance booklet or your online portal. Look for the words social worker, psychotherapy or occupational therapy, then note the annual amount available to you.
Confirm with your insurer
Ask whether the professional must hold a specific title and whether a medical referral is required. Two people insured with the same company can get different answers, because coverage depends on the employer plan.
Tell us before the first session
Write to us through the contact form with the name of your insurer or your program. We will check whether direct billing is possible in your case.
The links above lead to the official websites of the insurers and public bodies. Clinique Octobre is not affiliated with any of them and cannot guarantee the amount you will be reimbursed. The rules and rates are those published by each insurer or public body.
